Fly to the Sky’s Brian Considers EXO as a Rival

Fly to the Sky‘s Brian revealed the reason why he considered EXO as a rival group, despite having different target audience and genre.

On the latest episode of MNet‘s variety show “EXO 90:2014“, MC Jeon Hyun Moo praised the duo’s good looks and said they don’t lose to EXO’s looks as well. Both took it very well, however.

Fly to the Sky’s Brian admitted he considered EXO as rival for another reason and explained,

“my cousins really like EXO. Every morning, EXO’s morning calls are being played by them, and so with this I considered EXO as my rivals.”

Meanwhile, EXO’s Lay was the hero for this week’s remake of Fly to the Sky’s music video for “Missing You“.

EXO discuss how it'd be if they were a co-ed group, talk about ideal types, and more

On the September 26 installment of 'EXO 90:2014,' the special guests were DJ DOC's Kim Chang Ryul, Clon's Goo Joon Yup, and Koyote's Kim Jong Min.

MC Jun Hyun Moo noted that Koyote was a co-ed group and asked EXO about the advantage of being in a group in which they were all men.  They said, "We are like friends and a family."

Jun Hyun Moo then asked, "How do you think it would be if half of the EXO members were women?"  Kai replied, "I think it'd be okay if EXO-K were men and EXO-M were women, but I think it'd be uncomfortable if the eleven of us were promoting together and were mixed with men and women.  During concerts or the like, we just take off our clothes freely, so there's no need for a separate changing room."

Kim Jong Min admitted, "I wanted to try being in a boy group."  He revealed, though, that the female member of Koyote, Shinji, tried her best to accommodate.  He said, "From changing clothes to food, Shinji worked very hard to match."

Kim Chang Ryul asked, "Shinji doesn't have a lot of feminine traits?" making everyone laugh.  Kim Jong Min agreed with, "Because Shinji is strong."

During a portion of the show in which they had to guess the lyrics to DJ DOC's "Summer Story" with the hint, "A universal ideal type for men," Sehun said on the show, "I like women who are lofty," while Kai said, "I like cute women like Shin Min Ah in 'My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox'.'"

The answer to the question was, "Straight black hair that comes down to the waist." Baekhyun concurred with, "Long, straight hair is the ideal for all men."

Lastly, Chanyeol said, "When you listen to Koyote's songs, it brings on nostalgia and everyone can sing along together.  [Koyote] also has a lot of hit songs."  MC Jun Hyun Moo agreed they had a lot of hit songs, but he could not recognize them by their name alone.

Kim Jong Min pointed out that their hit songs all had titles with two characters, explaining that one track off their first album was two characters and did really well, so they kept using that format from thereon.  Sounds similar?  IU had previously pointed out that her hit tracks were all three characters long.

EXO’s Tao Says He Takes Photos to Keep Record of His Memories

On September 29, creative lifestyle magazine The Celebrity released an interview and pictorial featuring EXO member Tao.

In the pictorial, Tao transforms into a ‘fashion photographer’ and shows off his own distinct charms. He can be seen posing with a camera in hand, as he takes on a variety of angles to photograph model Baek Ji Won.

During the interview following the photo shoot, Tao shared what photographs mean to him: “To me, photos have the meaning of recording. It’s my own database to keep record of the precious times that are memories.”
On his thoughts of becoming a ‘fashion photographer,’ Tao expressed, “I was a bit nervous because I’ve never really had experience taking photos of anyone other than the [EXO] members or the close friends around me.”

Model Baek Ji Won complimented Tao’s ability to choose the best cuts and revealed, “I’ve worked with a lot of photographers in the past, but this was a new and different experience.”

EXO’s D.O Says “Cart” Co-Star Yeom Jeong Ah Helped Him in Movie Debut

EXO member D.O (Do Kyung Soo) has sent his gratitude to his co-star Yeom Jeong Ah who has helped him in his silver screen debut with the film “Cart.”

On the production presentation of the film “Cart” held at CGV in Apgujeong, Seoul today, September 30, D.O was able to give thanks to his co-actor in the film.

“Because this is the first film that I’ve tried acting in, I was very nervous but Yeom Jeong Ah sunbae was always by my side, taking care of me like a mother and comfortably looking over me. Because of her, my nervousness disappeared and I was comfortable in acting,” said D.O.

“I mostly acted alongside Yeom Jeong Ah sunbae so there wasn’t much chance to meet the other actors. I heard that when actors meet, there’s a public bath-like atmosphere. I also want to feel that public bath-like atmosphere,” D.O continued.
In “Cart,” D.O plays the role of Tae Young, the teenage son of Seon Hee (Yeom Jeong Ah) who does part time work.

“Cart” tells the story of a single mom Seon Hee who is wrongfully fired from her job at as a contract employee of a mega store. The movie stars Yeom Jeong Ah, Moon Jung Hee, Kim Young Ae, Kim Kang Woo, Hwang Jung Min, Chun Woo Hee, Ji Woo, and Do Kyung Soo.
The film is set to premiere on November.

Netizens criticize SM Entertainment for EXO Luhan’s health conditions

 

After announcing that he will be absent in EXO’s concert in Thailand due to exhaustion, netizens have taken it online and criticized SM Entertainment for Luhan’s condition. 

Previously, it was reported that EXO’s Luhan apologized through his Weibo account for his absence on EXO’s concert in Thailand due to health-related reasons.

SM Entertainment officials stated that,

"Luhan, who has recently visited the hospital due to headaches and insomnia, was recommended to rest and to restrain from long flights by the doctor," and explained that

"in order to protect the artist, Luhan will rest before joining back to future schedules."

Upon reading the article, the Korean netizens have started to criticize SM Entertainment for overworking their artists. Comments such as, 

"SM, stop over working your artists so much, do you think they are some kind of robot?" 

"Let them sleep SM," 

"Rest well :( Take care of your health!!" and more were posted online. 

EXO is currently pushing through with their “EXO FROM. EXOPLANET #1- THE LOST PLANET” concert tour which was launched in South Korea last May 23rd and 24th.

Luhan to Return to the Stage with EXO After Recovering from Problems with Sleep and Exhaustion

It has been revealed that EXO’s Luhan will be returning to the stage to perform with his fellow group members at their Beijing concert after recovering his health condition.
Recently, Luhan was unable to participate in the Thailand stop of the group’s “EXO FROM. EXOPLANET #1 – The Lost Planet” tour due to his deteriorating health caused by headaches and a sleeping disorder. However, it appears that he has improved his condition and will be joining his members at the Beijing stop on September 20 and 21.
On September 18, a representative of SM Entertainment told MyDaily, “Luhan, who has been resting, will join the Beijing concert this weekend.” Luhan made the decision to perform at this upcoming concert, as it is taking place in his hometown, which makes it especially meaningful for him.

EXO’s Sehun and Chanyeol Wish Fellow Member Chen a Happy Birthday

The EXO members showed their love for each other recently for Chen’s birthday. Chen was born September 21, 1992.
On September 21, Sehun uploaded a funny photo of Chen onto his personal Instagram with the message, “Funky Chen, Jong Dae [Chen’s real name] hyung, happy birthday. I love you. You’re the best.” In the blurry photo, Chen can be seen just lying on the ground with an expression that is funny at the particular angle.

Chanyeol also uploaded a photo of Chen onto his Instagram with the message, “Funky Chen! My friend Jong Dae happy birthday! Let’s overcome anything that comes our way no matter what! I love you!” His photo of Chen brought laughter as it was a very close up angle of Chen’s face.

EXO’s D.O. Talks about Working with Famous Actors in Upcoming Movie “Cart”

A lot of idols nowadays are not only showing off their singing talents but their acting talents as well. One of the idol actors who has proven his acting ability is EXO vocalist D.O, who goes by the name Do Kyung Soo on his acting stints. The EXO member already had his small screen debut for the recently-wrapped-up SBS drama “It’s Okay, It’s Love,” and his big-screen debut is nearing as well.
In an interview with X Sports News, D.O was asked how it was working with big-name actors especially for his big-screen debut with “Cart,” on which he responded, “I was very nervous acting with such big seniors. However, all of them gave me lots of support and I managed to learn a lot from them and film the movie successfully. One of the seniors who helped me a lot is Yeom Jung Ah who became somewhat of like a mother to me (on set), and I was able to film comfortably and forget my nervousness.”
D.O will be playing Choi Tae Yeong, the teenage son of main character Yeon Hee, played by actress Yeom Jung Ah. “Cart” will be shown nationwide this coming November.

EXO’s Lay Shows Impressive Acting Skills on Remake of “Missing You” Music Video

EXO‘s Lay put on his acting hat and showed impressive acting skills as the sixth member of the group to make a reinterpretation of a music video in Mnet’s “EXO 90:2014.”

On the September 12 episode of “EXO 90:2014,” Lay impressed a lot of fans for his acting in the music video remake of Fly to the Sky’s “Missing You.” In the music video, he played the role of a boyfriend who is on his way to meet his girlfriend. While preparing for his “date,” he sees notes left by his thoughtful girlfriend who made sure he doesn’t forget anything.

In the behind the scenes video released on September 15, viewers were able to see how much effort Lay put in the remake music video of Fly to the Sky’s “Missing You.”
Lay carefully acted out the scenes and even discussed with the director how he can perfectly portray the role of the boyfriend who was on his way to meet his girlfriend. After each cut, Lay monitored his performance to check whether he did good enough.

Lay, who confessed that he was “absorbed in the story of the music video,” also mentioned that he was really happy especially when the director gave him the “ok” signal. “I feel good. The most important thing is that the director was nice so he gave me the ‘ok’ signal. Because the director was kind, even if I wasn’t that natural in acting, he accommodated me,” said Lay.

Lay also humbly thought that even with the approval of the director, he is still lacking as an actor.When asked by the producer whether he has any desire to act, Lay honestly said, “Yes! I think the opportunity is very important. If there’s any chance, I would like to grab it.”

Zhang Li Yin Drops “Not Alone” Teaser Featuring EXO’s Tao and f(x)’s Victoria

Talent agency SM Entertainment has released a teaser video for singer Zhang Li Yin’s forthcoming release “Not Alone.” The video features other leading SM stars, including EXO’s Tao and (f)x member Victoria.

The song is the follow-up to the single album “Agape,” a hit last month for the Chinese singer, who has earned the nickname “the Chinese BoA.” Zhang Li Yin is also a member of SM the Ballad, an SM collaborative project that has utilized the vocals of many SM idol group acts, such as Girls’ Generation member Taeyeon and EXO-M’s Chen.
The music video for “Agape” also featured Tao and Victoria. It is thought that the music video for “Not Alone” will be a continuation of the narrative developed in “Agape.” If the teaser is anything to go by, the video for “Not Alone” will be action-packed, and will include fight scenes, as well as scenes involving a fire rescue.

EXO Takes Wacky Sticker Photo with CLON, DJ DOC, and Koyote on “EXO 90:2014″

EXO gets to meet DJ DOC, CLON, and Koyote in the upcoming episode of Mnet’s “EXO 90:2014″ set to air on September 26.
On this episode, EXO dedicates the show to “90′s Dance” and invites the “’90s Trending Dancers” DJ DOC’s Kim Chang Ryul, CLON’s Goo Joon Yup, and Koyote’s Kim Jong Min.
The upcoming episode grabbed the attention of many fans through the release of the sticker photo wherein Sehun, Chanyeol, Kai, Baekhyun, and Suho of EXO are shown squeezing in the photobooth and making funny faces together with their guests DJ DOC’s Kim Chang Ryul, CLON’s Goo Joon Yup, and Koyote’s Kim Jong Min. All eight guys tried their best to make their faces fit in the frame and showed good chemistry as they posed for the camera.

EXO’s Chanyeol Thanks Thai EXO-Ls for Giving Him the Best Gift

 

It has been almost two years since EXO has been back to Thailand and the fans’ warm welcome showed how much they have missed seeing the popular boy group.

Wu Yi Fan Makes First Official Public Appearance after Leaving EXO

Wu Yi Fan has made his first official public appearance after leaving his former boy group, EXO.
The Chinese media reported that on September 11, Wu Yi Fan was present at the production wrap-up press conference for his debut movie, “Somewhere Only We Know.” Although there were various reports on Wu Yi Fan’s activity before, this was the first time that he has officially appeared in front of journalists since leaving EXO.
At the press conference, the director of “Somewhere Only We Know” Xu Jinglei had nothing but good things to say about Wu Yi Fan. “Although his acting is still awkward at times, there are many elements in the movie that help him complete his character. There are other actors who help him, along with camera work and lighting, among other things. Wu Yi Fan is a very intelligent person and he has talent.” She also added, “Wu Yi Fan will become a big star in the future.”
Although this was Wu Yi Fan’s first official public appearance since leaving EXO, there were no mentions of it.
At the press conference, Wu Yi Fan also held a special performance for his fans, singing John Legend‘s “All of Me.”

EXO Member Luhan Will Not Be Attending Bangkok Concert Due to Exhaustion and Sleeping Problems

EXO member Luhan will not be able to participate in the group’s Bangkok concert due to health problems caused by exhaustion and sleeping problems.
On September 12, SM Entertainment wrote the following statement on the group’s official homepage: “Regrettably, current circumstances prevent Luhan from going to Bangkok to take part in EXO’s solo concert ‘EXO from EXO Planet #1-The Lost Planet’ on September 13-14. After going to the hospital due to headache and problems sleeping, the doctor said that he needs to take a break and long hours spent flying would be too hard on his body. In order to protect our artist, we will follow the doctor’s recommendation. Luhan will return to a regular schedule after taking the necessary rest.”
Luhan had also written about his situation on his personal homepage, saying that, “I’ve suffered from fatigue and a sleeping disorder for a long time, and I feel quite dizzy. I’m sorry but I can’t participate in the concert in Thailand. At first I thought I would be able to complete my schedule but it seems that I’ll be unable to show you guys a perfect stage this time. I hope I get better soon and can meet my fans at the Beijing concert. Please don’t worry,” he wrote.

EXO’s Chanyeol to Leave “Roommate” Due to Scheduling Conflicts

Another member has been dropped from “Roommate”— this time being EXO’s Chanyeol.
A representative from the SBS “Roommate” production team revealed on September 12 that “It has come to a situation where it has become difficult for Chanyeol to participate in the recordings for the show since his schedule is so busy.”

 

Chanyeol has been garnering much love from fans as the cute and polite roommate of Shin Sung Woo. However, his schedule is full of EXO promotions as well as filming for the movie “Jang Soo Shop” (working title). Consequently, he has decided to leave the show.
Meanwhile, the production team is preparing for a second season of “Roommate,” with various stars already confirmed, including Girls’ Generation’s Sunny, g.o.d’s Park Joon Hyung, Lee Gook Joo, Otani Ryohei, and GOT7’s Jackson.

Sasaeng fan commits fraud and steals money in order to follow EXO

 

A “sasaeng” fan of EXO has been charged of fraud and embezzlement for making fraudulent online transactions in order to raise money to follow the group.

On September 5th, the 21 year old fan was arrested by Gyeonggi Police after it was discovered that she would borrow expensive camera equipment from a rental store and pretend to sell it online. The products, however, did not reach its intended customers and was found to have used the same technique at least nine times. She earned at least 470,000 won from these fraudulent transactions.
Aside from embezzling money from her alleged customers, the fan also did not returned the said equipment back to the rental shop, which included a laptop, DSLR cameras and lenses.
When asked as to why she did such act, the fan answered that she needed the money to follow EXO this way.

“Sasaeng” fans, with ages ranging between twenty to forty, have a costly lifestyle in following their favourite artists, where money for taxi hires, expensive camera equipment and more are involved. These fans usually flock to monitor the schedules of these artists from work commitments up to their dormitories.
The fan is described to have lost her parents and is an unemployed high school graduate. She is revealed to stay by the cafe near EXO’s dormitory instead of staying home. She is currently confined in prison for the charge.

Luhan unable to join EXO for their “Lost Planet” concert stop in Bangkok, Thailand due to exhaustion

EXO’s Luhan updated fans today and confirmed that he will not be joining the rest of their group for their upcoming concert in Bangkok, Thailand.

On one of his updates on Weibo today, Luhan reveals that, “I apologise to our fans in Thailand and everywhere else. Due to excessive exhaustion over a long period of time, I have been suffering from recurring headaches, sleeping problems and often feel dizzy. I was advised by my doctor to rest and take time off. I am really, really sorry as I won’t be able attend the concert in Thailand. I originally thought I could continue and finish our schedules and show our best performances, however, it seems unlikely. I hope I improve soon so I will be able to participate in our concert in Beijing. I hope everyone doesn’t worry. :(“

EXO’s Luhan apologizes to fans for his absence from Thailand concert

It was previously reported that EXO’s Luhan was unable to participate in the recent concert held in Thailand due to an illness, and the idol has taken to SNS apologizing for his absence.
On September 11th, Luhan posted on his Weibo an apologize for not being able to perform for Bangkok concert.
He then stated that he tried to do his best on participating every events possible but his health problems were preventing him, adding his hopes to get well very soon and be able to attend EXO’s Beijing concert.
Last July, Luhan also had health problems reporting symptoms of headaches, dehydration and heat illness.
Among fans, Luhan is known for having bad health. EXO-Ls displayed their worries for Luhan after they spotted him visiting a local hospital in his hometown during the Chuseok holidays.
